Taylor Baker

I am currently a junior at Syracuse University majoring in Writing & Rhetorical Studies, where my creative writing skills flourish in expressing my own ideas and opinions. The entirety of my day is focused around a vast array of writing: essays, journals, social media, fiction, non-fiction and blogging. After graduation, I aspire to attend law school.

I am a contributing writing for the university’s [completely student-run] newspaper, The Daily Orange. I attend personal interviews, press conferences and conduct my own research to produce exceptional articles in a very short amount of time. I can’t say enough how passionate I am about writing — I love what I do. It’s thrilling to see your own words and creativity published in black and white for others to read and enjoy. As both a writer and an individual, I am extremely dedicated to my work and take pride in everything I do to yield the best quality results.

Alongside being a full-time student and newspaper writer, it gives me great pleasure to say that I am a member of the D1 Syracuse University Cheerleading team, for both the Men’s Football and Basketball season. For 10 months, seven days a week, we attend mandatory practice, personal workouts, travel trips, home games, volunteer work, and special event showings. Through these experiences, I have ultimately mastered the skills of time management, and strong communication. Also, it has transformed me into a key player when working well in a group setting in order to reach a common goal.

Through cheerleading and constant traveling, it has allowed me to develop a true love for exploring different places, and meeting new people. Through my commitment to cheerleading and my strong-willed work ethic, my mindset has been strengthened into a focused, hard-working person in the professional field of writing and personal relationships.
