In case you haven’t heard, I am officially an adult! I have recently graduated from Oakland University with a degree in elementary education this past December. Formal education and teaching students has always been an area I thought I would see myself in. This semester I began to substitute teach at different schools in the community. While substitute teaching most of the week, I also accepted a job at Kensington Church in Troy one day a week. This job at Kensington has allowed me to have my hand in a school in a new and fresh way. I started an after school program for middle school students and saw dozens of students come experience a fun environment where they could learn to find and follow Jesus. I began to feel like one day a week wasn’t enough for what I wanted to see happen in that community.
