Taylor Elizabeth Claman

Student, Actor, and playwright in Iowa City, Iowa

Taylor Elizabeth Claman is an aspiring playwright, actress, director, and writer. She loves to learn and experience new cultures. Perhaps that is why she loves the stage so much-- because it allows her to immerse herself in a different world with each new script.

At Iowa, she is double majoring in Theatre and Spanish, while also acquiring certificates in Writing and Latin American Studies. She is involved in the Iowa Honors Program, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Her Campus at Iowa, Gamma Rho Lambda Rho Chapter (which she helped found at her university), and of course, the theatre.

Within the theatre, at Iowa, she has performed in multiple readings; she directed Ollyoxals (by Ash Pierce) during the Ten Minute Festival; and she played the lead of Klara in, Nina Morrison's, Femináal.

This fall, she will be studying in Buenos Aires, Argentina for six months. While there, she hopes to complete an Honors project abroad (for her plan to graduate with University Honors and an Honors in Theatre). With this project, she may have the opportunity to intern with a local theatre in Buenos Aires.
