Taylor Corkill

Hello everyone!

I am a 2011 Golden Apple Scholar studying Special Education with a concentration in Learning and Behavior Disabilities at Illinois State University. I have had a passion for teaching and for children since I was a little girl. I find myself falling in love with children in every class I walk into. I'm a strong believer in learning not only from your mistakes but from the mistakes of others. You can always learn from what happens in your life, negative or positive experiences. Sometimes the negative experiences are what teach you the most. Every moment, is a teaching moment. Every moment, is a learning moment.

Exceptional teachers learn from students just as much as students learn from exceptional teachers. She plans on teaching with this idea in mind, always open to new ideas and new ways of doing things. While teaching, I plan to build relationships with each of my students to better learn how to impact their lives in a positive way.

Some of my favorite hobbies are writing, reading, and studying/doing homework for her current courses. I have been through alot in my lifetime but it has made me a better person and eventually a better teacher to my future students.

If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to e-mail me. Thank you very much for allowing us to share my story.
