I’m originally from the Spartanburg, SC area (though I’ll just as quickly claim Greenville as my home). I graduated from Furman University in spring of 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in religion. I’m married to the exceedingly lovely Tiffany Gibson Cox, who is currently pursuing pastoral ministry, or a PhD in feminist and/or Old Testament theology, or perhaps something related to fine cuisine. We’ll see.

I got started in design coming out of high school, when one of my teachers introduced me to Adobe Photoshop and Final Cut Pro. Traditional arts such as drawing and acrylics were “my thing” up to this point (I didn’t even own my own computer at the time– 2003 was a different world), but I took to this new medium somewhat quickly, and enjoyed it thoroughly. Despite pursuing the study of theology and ethics (my intellectual first loves) in college, I continued to dabble in design and video, making flyers for student organizations and Handicam-ing my way to a fair number of short videos.

Toward the end of my freshman year, I stumbled upon the information site for the first iteration of Apple’s Motion software and was immediately fascinated with the possibilities of motion graphics. My father, through Concoxions Ministries, was so kind as to invest in this interest, providing me with a Power Mac G5 and the then-named Apple Production Suite. “And the rest is history,” I suppose. I’m currently working with some of the most talented individuals I’ve had the pleasure of meeting on the media team at North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, GA.
