Taylor Shaw
Executive Producer of Digital Media in Kansas City, Missouri
I’m a “tra-digital journalist.”
Sig Gissler, former administrator of the Pulitzer Prizes, coined the term to describe a person with the skills and values of a traditional journalist with a digitaloverlay.
I’ve made a conscious effort to diversify my skills to tell a story across different media. I’m passionate about journalism and the role it plays in connecting diverse populations, giving a voice to the voiceless and holding people accountable.
I’m a digital executive producer at 41 Action News (KSHB-TV) in Kansas City, Missouri. I oversee a group of five digital producers to create and develop new forms of storytelling that engages our growing digital audience.
I'm a graduate of American University where I earned a master's degree in journalism and public affairs. I also attended Peace College, now William Peace University, where I received a bachelors degree in communication.
Outside of journalism, I love to travel, take modern dance classes and watch reruns of "The Golden Girls."
