Taylor Doherty

Currently, I'm a student at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst working toward my BBA in Marketing at Isenberg School of Management. I'm also an honors student double majoring in English. Someday, I hope to use my skills from both studies toward an exciting and rewarding career. By joining the marketing club and taking writing work shops, I've learned how to spread my passions or ideas quickly and effectively. Particularly, I'm interested in today's view of the modern woman and what it truly means to be 'female' in the business world, society, at home, and mentally. As I've learned in marketing, the media is extremeley powerful. For years, there has been conflict about a woman's identity in the media realm. Recently however, it seems that the media has been promoting confidence and change for women, and this is what I am passionate about. Together, men and women have been creating advertisements, Ted Talks, and blogs geared toward women of all ages to prompt awareness and inspiration. My dream is to one day be a part of this crusade and to excite my own change in the world, big or small.
