Taylor Murphy

Beginning in High School, I developed a flair for business. I was involved with DECA, a competitive business club, competing in Apparel and Accessories Marketing. After placing in the top 20 at the International Career Development Conference, pursuing Marketing further in college was a no brainer. Furthermore, my favorite course at Bentley has been Retailing. I have maintained a strong relationship with my professor because of my strong interest in retail as well as my constant desire to learn about the industry.

I am currently a senior at Bentley University, majoring in Marketing and Global Perspectives with a minor in Literature. I am a fan of the classics and have found that my love of Austen and Tolstoy reinforces my desire to relate to other cultures.

Additionally, I thrive off of involvement and leadership positions. I am chair the "Concerts" committee for our Campus Activity Board (CAB) and write for my school's Her Campus chapter (an online magazine for college co-eds). Through these clubs, I have developed great organization, time management, planning, and communication skills.

With the goal of putting myself out of my comfort zone, I went abroad Fall 2011 and spent 4 months living and studying in Mannheim, Germany. Because of this experience, I developed a keen sense of adaptability.

Outside of school, I enjoy dabbling in all things Social Media. I take pride in the fact that I've been Tweeting since before it was cool. I have accounts on almost every site and aim to have a unique presence on all of them. I understand the importance Social Media plays for companies and feel that there is no better way to build relationships with consumers than via interactive engagement.

I hope that one day I can combine all of my passions and work for an international company within their Marketing department; working (and having fun doing it) all while seeing the world!
