Major: Family Studies and Human Services

Process of deciding on a major: I have a friend who just graduated with a degree in Family Studies, and she suggested the major to me. I wasn't sure that it was the right choice for me, but as soon as I took my first FSHS classes, I was extremely happy with my choice to declare it as my major!

Why students should come to ACIC: ACIC has so many resources for students to utilize. If you aren't sure what major you want, ACIC has assessments and resources to help you explore your options. Even if you do have a major already, ACIC can help you explore your future career options.

How ACIC has helped me: ACIC has helped me to know that my major was the right pick for me through the career assessments and looking at the World of Work. My assessment told me that I definitely belong in a job in the social category of work.

Interests and involvement on campus: I love playing ultimate frisbee and hammocking with my dorm community and friends. I also enjoy going to Christian Challenge and participating in a bible study through that club. I recently joined the Silver Key Sophomore Leadership Honorary, and I look forward to helping this club with service projects through the next academic year.

Top Strength and how it is used in ACIC: My top strength is Belief. I use this strength in ACIC because it is all about having a desire to leave the world better than I found it. I want to help others, and a job as a career specialist is a great place to do just that!

Especially passionate about helping: Children! I love working with children and I hope to get to work with them in the future.

Career Path: I would love to go to graduate school and get a degree to become a school counselor or academic advisor.
