Taylor Kay

Flowery Branch, Georgia

My name is Taylor Kay, and I'm a first year student at the University of Georgia, majoring in International Affairs and Public Relations, with a minor in Fashion Merchandising and a certificate in New Media. At UGA, I'm currently involved in the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, UGA HEROs, and Wesley.

I'm from Buford, GA, and I attended Flowery Branch High School. I was a competitive cheerleader for 9 years, and also highly involved with Student Council, National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Beta Club, and chorus, and I served in leadership positions for nearly all of these organizations. I also attended Governor's Honors Program in 2012 as a Biology major, with a Counseling minor.

I'm a lifeguard at AMS Pools, and I work with a nonprofit called HealthMPowers as the primary writer and editor for the Kid2Kid newsletter, which was featured on the top 100 Physical Education websites. My work with the company was exclusively volunteering, until this summer when I was moved into a paid internship position. I also volunteered with my church, Blackshear Place Baptist, as well as other local organizations. I really look forward to getting involved with service programs as much as I can while in Athens.

I'm a Type A personality with a love of organization and to-do lists. Long runs are my guilty pleasure. I love all things Harry Potter. On any given weekend, I can probably be found at a coffeeshop or bookstore surrounded by books. Unless, of course, it's gameday. GO DAWGS!
