Taylor Stanfield

Atlanta, Georgia

I was raised in a small town and had dreams of moving to the big city. I grew up in Pembroke, Georgia, just a little dot on the map but to me something more. There I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, did some singing for my church and countless other events, lived less than a mile from family, fulfilled mama's dream of becoming a pageant queen and daddy's dream of playing softball. I didn't realize my passion for film until I took a video production class my freshman year. I was hooked. The feeling I would get working on a project and seeing the finished product was amazing. I became editor of our news team and found myself trying to go to my film class every chance I got during the day and then going home and searching for new projects to do. I have never been so passionate or worked so hard at something, which is why I knew that editing was what I was supposed to do. I knew there was no hope for my passion if I stayed in my podunk town of Pembroke (most people where I'm from had never heard of going to school to edit film), so I set my eyes for the bright lights of Atlanta, Georgia. While I still have doubts about my next steps in life, I know God has a plan for me. My dream goal is to edit a major film, but I am content with whatever job comes my way just as long as I'm fulfilling my passion to edit.
