Tyler Bellia

My name is Tyler Bellia and I am currently a student at Rutgers University, majoring in Sociology and a minor in Education. I am applying to the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers hoping to pursue my goal of becoming an elementary school teacher. I made this Online Portfolio to share information about myself, and why and how I want to become a great teacher.Since I started babysitting I knew what I wanted to pursue as a career. I always loved the fact that I was in charge, and that I was being looked up to. I enjoy acting as a leader because I think that I am a very good leader, I have also pursued many roles as a leader outside of school, for example I used to play quarterback, and I also helped coached the Pop Warner team in my town. Also, with being a leader I like to watch others that I teach succeed in life, it does not matter what they do, but watching the children that you are in charge of succeed is a great feeling, and that is one of the main reasons why I going to pursue teaching as a career.

My dream is to become a high school teacher and a high school football coach. I feel that these two jobs work hand in hand with each other. Teaching students in the classroom and teaching athletes on the field is something that I want pursue when I am out of college. Being able to put new knowledge into students has always fascinated me, as well as changing boys into men not only on the football field, but in life as well.
