Taylor Bembery, is a journalist and recent graduate of Jackson State University from Detroit, Mich. Taylor received her Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications with a concentration in Multimedia Journalism and a minor in English. She excelled in her curriculum and graduated with honors through the Xi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society in December of 2014. She uses her skills and passion in the field of journalism to take her far. Taylor considers herself to be a storyteller that has had the passion of learning and talking to others about their experiences since she could pick up a pen and pad. She has interviewed Earvin 'Magic' Johnson, CEO of Karmaloop Greg Selkoe, Olympian Michael Tinsley, and many more. Taylor is also the former Associate Editor of The Blue & White Flash, where she obtained over 110 published articles and won several awards for her writing from the Mississippi Press Association during her position. She is a member of the NAACP, a member of the National Association of Black Journalists student chapter, and an active mentor through the South Lake High School Job Shadow Program in St. Claire Shores, Mich. She is currently a freelance writer for the largest online urban lifestyle publication in the Midwest region, SooDetroit.com. She is eager to expand her brand and journalism career. Taylor always finds balance to follow her dreams while serving her community at the same time.
