I am an ordained Presbyterian (USA) minister with a M.Div. from Princeton Seminary. But I hope no one holds that against me. For my entire life as a minister I have considered myself an anamoly, a kind of reluctant servant. I have never felt fully comfortable as one who serves within the church. I was once called a gadlfy by one denominational official. I had a very personal experience of Jesus, of all places, in seminary. Ever since then I've felt like a misfit within the mainline denomination. But I have learned to be comfortable with who I am and to celebrate the gifts God has given me.

So you can know me more personally let me share with you that I have celebrated 39 years of marriage. I have four children and grand children. I currently serve Trinity Presbyterian Church (30 members) marking thirteen years as their pastor. Trinity has an active recovery ministry in the Kensington area of Philadelphia. I am also a part time chaplain at Neshaminy Manor, a long term care facility. My wife and I are best of friends and we like to go out to eat at good restaurants.

I am grateful for the church I serve because I can be myself and it is a vital community of faith. My unfulfilled dream was to create a community of faith with unchurched without a building. My blog 8thdaylivingfaith.com is an attempt to create the faith community of my dreams in virtual space.
