Taylor DeMesa

Tampa Florida

Taylor DeMesa is a simple Florida girl with a big imagination. She loves baking and rowing and especially the friends she's had the priviledge to meet both in the kitchen and on the water. She is passionate about rowing and coaches for a local high school team in the area. Her love of the sport began when she was in high school, but she didn't find her competitive spirit until this past summer when she decided to try out for the U.S. Under 23 National Team. This decision sparked a new passion in her as she started her senior year as captain of her collegiate team. While she is competitive on the water, she is quite different when she steps into the kitchen. In the kitchen, she embraces all things silly, including her awful singing voice (which tends to always be just a bit too loud) and her hideous dance moves. However, her love of food is not a recent development, it started at an early age from the culinary expertise and creativity of both her mom and her grandmother. These two women have inspired her to follow her heart and not be afraid to take a leap if her dreams are on the other side waiting. Taylor dreams of opening her own bakery in Tampa. But until then, she will be finishing up her Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship at the University of Tampa, applying to pastry schools, and training hard so she can try out for the U.S. Under 23 National Rowing Team in the summer of 2014.
