I graduated from the University of Waterloo with a B. Math, emphasis on Computer Science and teaching.
I taught High School Math & Computer Programming for 10 years before I began looking for something else. Actually, it was my lovely, observant wife who said "You're clearly not enjoying yourself anymore. Why don't you go do something else that you'll enjoy." Since then I've been working in IT for various organizations. I'm just a propeller head at heart.
Five years ago, after over a thirty year hiatus, I began playing hockey again. I'm loving it. The banter in the change room before and after games always gets me laughing. Laughter is good for you. Depending on a number of factors, I'm playing between two and four times a week. It's just too bad that it's primarily an anaerobic activity and therefore doesn't really contribute to helping me get lean.
Four years ago I earned my motorcycle licence. After years of my best friend prodding me to get one I finally did it. Following that, I promptly asked him why he didn't make me do it sooner! Unless you've ridden a motorcycle, you can't understand the freedom it provides. There's a quote I like that captures some of that spirit - "four wheels move the body ... two wheels move the soul"
