Having grown up in a household where tea was prevalent the enjoyment of the beverage came easily to me. Like most Americans, I gravitated toward flavored and herbal teas from companies who put product into easily consumable tea bags. That is until 2006.

In 2006 I was introduced to higher quality tea "sachets" by a coworker. Instantly recognizing the improvement in flavor, and aroma I began exploring tea with the passion and fervor I'm known for. In short order I outgrew sachets and moved on to loose leaf teas. By 2009, I'd decided to explore the industry now that I knew its product better.

When 2009 began, I had no idea where it would take me. I started a blog at www.tea-guy.com to share my experiences and opinions on tea. I quickly found myself in Las Vegas at the World Tea Expo offering coverage on that blog for the readership which was quickly growing (partly due to recent experience as a search engine optimization specialist.)

It is at this expo where I had my eyes opened. To the broader collection of tea product for sure, but no... it was something else. I set out on what I can only call a quest. A quest to forever change the tea industry by raising knowledge and value of the average tea drinker as well as help the industry make better informed and data driven product decisions.

Teaity.com is the result of this quest. It is not the end, merely the beginnings of change. Come with me. Explore, grow and fall deeper in love with a product 5000 years old, and yet as new and fresh as every leaf we brew.

Since officially launching Teaity at the end of 2012, the site has grown and changed. The vision I once held remains, but the path toward that goal is ever changing. Join me on this exciting journey!
