Teah Bakonyi
Creative Industries Student
Hi, my name is Teah Bakonyi and I am in my second year at Ryerson University in the Creative Industries program. Within my studies I am specializing in Media Business and Communications. I grew up in Vancouver and attended King David High School. Throughout my childhood I was a competitive Rhythmic Gymnast and dedicated lots of my time to training in hopes of excelling in the sport I loved so much. When I wasn’t in the gym, you could find me in Whistler skiing on the weekends with my family and friends. As my Rhythmics training days came to a close when I was in grade 10, I was hired by my couches to work with the junior athletes part time. I was able to continue my involvement and love for the sport even after I was no longer competing.
After my first year at Ryerson, my interest in media business and marketing grew so I decided to get an internship at Blue Ruby, a local jewelry company in BC. I was trained to be the e-commerce intern as well as I helped with their social media marketing, and even some jewelry design. Both training and coaching Rhythmic Gymnastics as well as my internship at Blue Ruby, has allowed me to use my creativity to express both myself and others in different ways. These experiences have made me hope to pursue a career that integrates both marketing and design.
