I love putting my communications skills to practice on issues that have a direct impact on people. I came to that realization early, even as a newspaper reporter for small community dailies and weeklies in Central Pennsylvania. It never felt like I was selling newspapers -- I felt that I was doing public service by keeping the community informed.

Since 1999, I have worked in public relations, mainly in the public service arena of Pennsylvania government and a few years for a nonprofit provider of affordable housing. I get a sense of fulfillment and satisfacation knowing that what I do professionally has a broader impact on society.

That's why I ran for a seat on Elizabethtown Borough Council in in 2007. I love my community and want to be involved in shaping its future for the next generation.
