Ted Gilkey

Ted Gilkey is widely considered an authority in the field of educational leadership and administration. Starting in 1971, Ted has been involved in the educational administration system. Ted not only taught for his first six years as a schoolteacher, he was also a varsity lacrosse coach and assistant football coach, exhibiting his enthusiasm to be engaged in more than just the teaching.

Today, Ted works as an associate professor at Salisbury University located in Salisbury, MD. He is the Program Director for the Education Leadership Program, aiding new educators in achieving their master’s degree in education along with principal certification. Ted has also implemented a collaborative professional development program with three institutions of higher education and teams of administrators from four rural counties (including Baltimore) that focuses on leadership skills resulting in increased student achievement.
