Tedd Gullickson

High school music teacher Tedd Gullickson also directed the 77 Lancers, an all-volunteer, competitive parade band 100 to 200 members strong. Mr. Gullickson served in this capacity for 25 years, building one of the Midwest's most admired parade bands. The band accepts all interested volunteer musicians of high school age, and only performs during the summer months.

Tedd Gullickson planned, organized, and executed a performance tour every summer, taking the Lancers to Hawaii, California, Washington, D.C., and Canada. The disciplined marching style instilled by Mr. Gullickson earned the group frequent requests to appear at nationally televised events such as the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and the Tournament of Roses parade. Under his guidance, the band won Grand Champion and People's Choice awards.

Prior to entering the teaching profession as a music educator, Tedd Gullickson attended Concordia College. He earned a Bachelor's in Music Education. During his time there, Mr. Gullickson held positions with multiple musical ensembles. He was the principal percussionist with the Fargo Moorhead Symphony Orchestra, tympanist with the Fargo Moorhead Opera Company, and a drummer for the Frank Scott Big Band. A frequent performer, Mr. Gullickson utilized his percussive skills with the school's concert band, jazz band, pit orchestra, Dixieland band, and others.

After completing his degree and serving as a high school bandleader for two years, Tedd Gullickson returned to school. Mr. Gullickson obtained his Master's in Music Education from the University of Minnesota where he was the principal tympanist for the school's Wind Ensemble.

Mr. Gullickson continues to perform as a drummer and bandleader for the Real Big Band, the Calhoun Isles Community Band, and his local church. He is married, with two grown children.
