Teddy Sherrill

Teddy is the CTO of Comprehensive, a software startup he co-founded with CEO Roger Lee. The company provides an all-in-one employee compensation platform that promotes pay equity and transparency.

Before Comprehensive, Teddy was global CTO of Restaurant Brands International for 4 years, where he helped create a TypeScript codebase for restaurant apps that serves hundreds of millions of users worldwide via each country's Burger King, Popeyes, and Tim Hortons apps.

In order to help the company become more technical given the rapid growth of digital food ordering, he created the Consumer Technology Group within RBI, building the group to 200+ employees including engineers from Google, Microsoft, Uber, and top VC-backed startups.

While building + leading the team, he came face to face with many of the recruiting and retention challenges teams face as a result of the lack of modern tools for managing people comp, and these challenges helped to inform the direction for the new company.

Before RBI, Teddy was CTO of Flocabulary, an edtech app + company that he helped launch in 2011. He wrote the company's JavaScript and Python codebase back in the first couple of years, and later set up the company’s engineering, product, and recruiting functions, helping it to scale to 75 employees and 2 million users. The company was acquired by Nearpod in 2019.

Previously, Teddy worked in venture capital at OpenView Venture Partners, where he was lucky to learn up close about the diversity of tech stacks, product processes, and business models via the fund's portfolio companies.

Outside of work, Teddy has a background as an athlete in the sport of fencing, training in NYC and at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. He has been a traveling member of Team USA on and off since his first World Championships at age 16 in 2003.

He studied Social Studies and Computer Science at Harvard University, met his wife there on the fencing team, and now lives with his family in Brooklyn, NY.
