Teddy Teece
Managing Partner of Kea Capital Partners in Boulder, CO
Teddy Teece is the Managing Partner of Kea Capital Partners (KCP), an investment firm focused on connecting international capital with New Zealand’s light industrial sector. He is an entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist whose work has included finance, technology, executive coaching, and real estate. Across these areas, he has aimed to connect purpose, profit, and planet while working on global, overlooked, and unique market challenges.
Teddy's ties to New Zealand go back five generations, and his dual-hemisphere, bi-coastal early life helped shape his global perspective. That background supports his current work with long-term and lifestyle-oriented investors who seek financial returns while building stronger connections to New Zealand and contributing to its economy, environment, and infrastructure.
As Founder and Managing Partner of KCP, Teddy leads acquisition strategies across New Zealand’s “golden triangle,” with a focus on light industrial sectors. The firm’s approach centers on acquiring, growing, and consolidating established businesses that support the country’s infrastructure. Through KCP, he is raising 75M NZD from 15 families and investors who want to establish residency in New Zealand and make a meaningful contribution to its economy.
Teddy developed KCP’s business plan and thesis during his first year in Wharton’s Executive MBA program. This included forming advisory relationships, testing the plan, and recognizing a timely opportunity. KCP now offers a geopolitical insurance product for investors concerned about macroeconomic uncertainty and drawn to New Zealand’s safety and stability. His model brings together private equity, search fund approaches, local partnerships, community events, and philanthropic opportunities.
Before founding KCP, Teddy helped build an investment bank as Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, where the firm processed eight and nine-figure transactions. He also co-founded a marketplace for unique experiences through an incubator and developed partnerships with major providers. In consulting, he co-founded a leadership and family business advisory service, working with business families, executives, and next-generation leaders across the United States, the Middle East, and New Zealand.
Teddy has also developed a nonprofit and executive retreat destination near Boulder, Colorado, improving a forty-acre property for connection, reflection, wellness, and community. Since 2017, he has supported Navy SEAL families through a foundation and helped raise six- and seven-figure sums for charities.
Teddy graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies, earned recognition for the university’s best senior essay, competed as an NCAA Division I lightweight rower, and played rugby.
Today, Teddy Teece works with a New Zealand-based team, supports charitable organizations, writes, drums, works the land, and seeks adventure. He continues to focus on service, stewardship, and long-term partnerships that help build lasting organizations and communities.
