Life can throw us some real crazy curveballs. Life can throw us under the bus. It threw me under one -- big time.

Born & raised in Staten Island, New York, before it became a cesspool, life was fairly ordinary --- if you don't count parental discord that ended in divorce. Otherwise, I was a kid like many, ripe with potential and ready to conquer the world.

In an era of excess & rebellion, I did ok for myself considering all things, namely the challenge of having an absentee father. Although the impetus for some occasional bad decision-making, no matter what I did & no matter how far I strayed, I always managed to keep my head above water. In fact, not only did I go off on my own at 18, I put myself through college at night while working full time. Eleven years in, I finally graduated -- and it was worth every ounce of effort, even the fun times forgone with friends who were forever calling on me to come out and party!

No sooner did I have my coveted masters in hand than my troubles began in earnest. For no reason other than being a diligent, conscientious, woman hellbent on a career in public service, I found myself thrust into a hellish workplace nightmare at New York City Transit Authority that would continue for the next 19 years! Determined to fight the system, to stand up for what I believed to be right and just, I fought with every bit of fervor & determination in me. But it took a horrific toll on my life, one that left me both strengthened & scarred.

In 2010, I began writing THROWN UNDER THE BUS: THE RISE AND FALL OF AN AMERICAN WORKER. It is a story that’s as frightening as it is enlightening. Not only does my story expose the egregious realities of workplace abuse and the litigation that often follows, but it is also testament to the seriously misguided direction our great nation has taken over the past five decades. I guarantee you will not find a story like mine anywhere! Whether you are an aggrieved employee, a steadfast American patriot, a civil rights activist, or just an avid reader looking for a good book, I encourage you to grab a copy. You won't regret it.
