In 1982, Ted joined KOST 103.5 in Los Angeles. At KOST, Ted began an 18 year run as the most popular late night radio music host in Southern California. With Ted's warm and caring style, he attracted nearly a million listeners every week to his nightly "Love Songs" segment. Ted left KOST in October 2000, ending his reign as the longest running nighttime host on adult contemporary radio in America.
For most of his years away from KOST, Ted was half of the morning radio team "Ted and Lauren in the Morning” on 95.9FM "The Fish" Anaheim. Now, Ted is back on KOST and is heard many weekdays and twice on weekends. For six weeks of 2008, Ted hosted the KOST Morning Show producing record ratings. In 2011, Ted was interim host on the midday show from 10am-3pm. He also spent several more months in 2012 hosting afternoons from 3-7pm daily. Ted took both shows to the #1 position in the LA-Orange County audience ratings with the highest non-Christmas month ratings ever.
Ted is a member of Screen Actors Guild-AFTRA and has appeared in various movies, television shows and theatrical productions. Along with the legendary Dick Clark, Ted became the host of a nationwide television project called "The Heartline." He was also the host of the nationally syndicated radio show "Saturday Night Love Songs with Ted Ziegenbusch" for Jones Radio Network. Ted began his radio career at K/men and KCAL-FM in San Bernardino and then hosted morning shows on several of the top stations in San Diego. Over the years, Ted has also been a program director or programming consultant for many #1 radio stations.
In addition to being named one of the Outstanding Young Men in America for three consecutive years, Ted has been listed in several editions of "Who's Who in America" and "Who's Who in Entertainment." He is a recent recipient of the Arvella Schuller Award at Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. The annual award is given to someone who is a positive influence on America's young people. Previous winners have included the late TV icon Steve Allen, Dr. Laura, Dr. Phil, former model-actress-entrepreneur Kathy Ireland and former Dodger's manager Tommy Lasorda.
Ted lives in Orange County with his wife of more than 30 years and has three married sons.
