Teema is a Moroccan/Dutch artist, born to Moroccan parents who immigrated in the 70′s to the Netherlands.

Ever since she can remember, singing was a passion of hers. She attended the Music school of Amsterdam at the age of 11 where she developed her music skills. Her love for Arabic music started when her mother gave her a compilation cd of Fairouz on her 14th birthday.

Teema's Arabic music career started in Cairo.The first person who encouraged Teema to sing in Arabic was the Egyptian composer and singer Esam Karika. He liked Teema's voice and invited her to Egypt to record in the studio.Her first Arabic song was released in the Middle-east with Nojoom Tv Dubai. 'Tigi Tigi' was released world wide with record label EMI ARABIA Dubai and hit the RADIO charts in Europe. Since her debut,Teema has released couple of more music video's independently, which were aired on MTV Arabia, Melody tv and Mazzika tv.

Teema has supported many projects that encourages and supports Arabic women in music. She represented the Netherlands at the MWMM (Muslim Women Music Makers) European Tour among other artists.An international campaign to encourage and support Muslim women as music makers world wide.Teema is preparing to release her first Arabic jazz album. Her love for the arabic language made her learn the different Arabic dialects, and therefore she sings in different Arabic dialects, such as,Lebanees, Egyptian and Moroccan.
