Tejan Kamara is a YALI RLC Fellow who became the second Sierra Leonean to win “The YALI Spirit Award". He is a Pan-African Scholar with a Master's Degree in Governance and Regional Integration from the Pan-African University. In 2022, he won the US Embassy in SL Ambassador Special Self-Help Grant. In 2023, he was nominated for the Forty Under 40 Africa Awards. He specialises in Mining Operations, Project Management, Resource Governance, Technical & Vocational Education, Civic Engagement, Community Development & Regional Economic Integration.

He holds a Diploma and a First-Class Honours Degree in Education and Community Development Studies from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.

Master's in Governance and Regional Integration from the Pan African University & the University of Yaounde II.

Diploma in Computer Software at Nabsara College of Science and Management.

Diploma in Islamic Studies at the Islamic Open University (IOU).

Diploma in Special Needs Education (Online)

He was a former President of the Department of Education & Extra-Mural Studies, FBC, USL, 2018-2019.

He served as the National President of the National Union of Muslim Students (NUMS) in Sierra Leone in 2019.

He is the Founder and Executive Director of the Goodwill Humanitarian Foundation Sierra Leone.

Founder of the Pan-African Climate Initiative for Civic and Gender Empowerment.

Chairman, Board of Directors, Future Leaders Initiative SL.

Chairman and Founder of the National Islamic Youth Leadership Summit (NIYLS).

Project Manager at Puzzle Pieces Sierra Leone.

Operations Superintendent at Bale Mining (Sierra Rutile).

A certified Ambassador from the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sierra Leone.

SDG Ambassador from Africa for the SDGs.

He has also received numerous certificates of recognition for his hard work and commitment to promoting education, peace and community development in Sierra Leone.

Awards and certificates like the New Generation Leadership Initiative and Africa Youth Ambassador by the Ministry of Youth Affairs were awarded to him.

Peace and Development Recognition Award by Future Leaders Initiatives among others he was also honored with.

He has represented Sierra Leone on several platforms across Africa.

Finally, he has published several peer-reviewed articles, enrolled in several online professional courses, and reached several milestones.
