Tekeh Mbanwi Joseph

Project Manager and Consultant in Cameroon

Senior Power Systems Engineer | 40+ Years in Grid Stability & Thermal Generation | MSc in Thermal & Alternative Energies | Open to PhD in Alternative Energy Systems to Drive Sustainable Electrification in Europe and Africa

I am a seasoned Electrical and Power Engineer with over 4 decades of experience ensuring the reliability of Cameroon's national grid, now pursuing a PhD in Alternative Energies. My career has been dedicated to solving complex, real-world energy problems—from managing fuel logistics for 90,000-liter thermal plants to leading teams of 40+ engineers.

My goal is to leverage this deep practical knowledge to contribute to cutting-edge European research in renewable integration, grid stability for variable sources, and sustainable energy solutions for emerging markets.

My expertise is not just theoretical. For years, I have been at the operational heart of energy delivery, specializing in:
Data-Driven Performance Analysis: I have directed the analysis of performance data from 6+ power plants across 3 regions, using KPIs (EAF, EFOF, ESOF and GSC) to optimize output and plan maintenance. This analytical rigor is directly transferable to PhD-level research on renewable energy system performance.

Large-Scale Project & Team Leadership: I have managed operations and maintenance budgets, coordinated fuel supply chains for multi-plant networks, and led large, cross-functional engineering teams. I understand the logistical and human challenges of implementing energy projects—a perspective often missing in pure academic research.

Systems Troubleshooting & Maintenance: My hands-on experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of generation and distribution systems provides a fundamental understanding of the engineering constraints that new alternative energy technologies must overcome to be viable.

My recently completed Master of Technology in Thermal Engineering and Energy with a focus on Alternative Energies has equipped me with the contemporary academic framework to complement my practical experience. I am particularly interested in researching:

  • The integration of hybrid renewable systems (solar PV, wind) with existing grid infrastructure.
  • Energy storage solutions to address the intermittency of renewables, drawing from my experience in managing real-time grid load and fuel consumption.
  • Sustainable biofuel applications for existing thermal generation assets to create a transitional pathway to a greener grid.

Open to fully and partially-funded PhD scholarship within a European university or research institute that values practical industry experience as a foundation for innovation. I am eager to collaborate with leading professors on projects focused on the practical deployment and optimization of alternative energy systems.
