My name is Tekerra Branch and I'm a freshman at UGA, majoring in computer systems engineering. So far, this has been an exciting experience for me. I was nervous about coming to a big college that's three hours away from my home and friends, but over the months, I've been able to get over that and make even more friends here, as well as call this, UGA, my other home.
I'm a loving, caring, outgoing, determined individual that strives for excellence and know what I want in life. I enjoy sleeping (especially being a college student), eating, watching television, texting, shopping, and most of all, playing basketball.
My background is a picture of me doing what I love the most, playing basketball. This particular game is one of the most important games at our school because it was against one of our rivals. Of course we won! I've been playing basketball since I was in the fourth grade, starting with recreational basketball. Then I played c-team, then b-team, then varsity. I've been in the starting five of every level of basketball I've played. Both my mother and father played when they were in high school so it's basically "in my blood." When I played on my high school team, every year we went to the play-offs. I really miss playing with my friends/teammates; those were my best moments in high school. Basketball means so much more to me than a game. It runs through my veins, it's like I breathe it. When I'm out there on the court, everything esle doesn't matter.
My profile picture is one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken. The girl with me in the picture is my bestfriend. We've been bestfriends since I was in the seventh grade and she was in the sixth, so about six or seven years. We played basketball together from recreational all the way to high school. We share numerous amounts of memories that we often dwell on when we're together. She has always been there for me whenever I've needed her to be. She is one person that I know for a fact that I can count on to have my back and never let me down. Since we've been bestfriends, we've never had a "falling out" with one another or ever got into a huge argument because we always laugh if we start to argue. She is more like a sister to me and I would do anything for her.
