Telvin Debnam
Growing up in a small, rural town in Central North Carolina, I come from a poor family consisting of my grandparents, Harriet and L.J. Debnam, my mother, Paula Debnam, and myself. During my childhood, I often found myself alone with my books or my television. I learned from growing up, the power of knowledge and education, not necessarily through my environment, but through the books and TV shows that I watched. I was able to see that there was a different life and opportunities outside of my small town. I am a 2008 graduate of North Carolina Central University and am currently pursuing my Masters of Public Administration. Before graduating with my B.A. in political science, I began to learn more about social entrepreneurship and social venture development. Since then, most of my professional, scholastic, and community endeavors have been focused on developing my knowledge and skills in social entrepreneurship and social enterprise.
