Temi Kamson
Project Manager in London, United Kingdom
I'm the founder & CEO of GT Scholars, an education organisation based in London, England.
GT Scholars is a social enterprise that's on a mission is to develop, empower and equip the next generation of leaders and change-makers across the globe.
We run tutoring, mentoring & career insight programmes that help our scholars, aged 11-18, discover their strengths, develop their mindsets and design their own futures.
We work with over 750 schools across the UK and we have over 200 registered volunteer tutors and mentors. Over the past eight years, our programmes and events have supported over 15,000 young people from a wide range of backgrounds.
As a social enterprise, we operate by using a mixed-funding model. In 2015, we set up a unique 3:1 scholarship model using our profits to run free and low-cost leadership programmes for young people from less-advantaged backgrounds.
In terms of my professional life, I've had a varied career working firstly as a Civil Engineer, and working for some time in Investment banking before building my career as a Maths teacher. Since setting up GT Scholars, I've been involved in setting up various programmes for young people and programmes for families. In the process, I continue to meet amazingly talented people and I absolutely love what I do!
My zone of genius is using technology and innovation to solve problems. I also love helping people discover their gifts and turn their passion and ideas into reality. I'm passionate about making a difference through social enterprise, and I often write and speak about social entrepreneurship, social mobility and impactful leadership.
Feel free to get in touch to discuss potential collaboration & partnership opportunities.
