I’m T.J., a writer, student, and well-wisher from Northern Virginia/ Japan.

Born in Okinawa, Japan I spent the first 10 years of my life traveling around the world with my family— from Turkey to Japan to Korea. In December 2006, I moved to the United States for the first time. Settling into an apartment in Alexandria, Virginia, I shared an air mattress and a floor with my mom and my brother for the first month. Eventually we moved further south to Woodbridge, VA, where we’ve stayed ever since.

I attended a performing arts high school there where I studied creative writing (specifically poetry and nonfiction). Now a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University, I major in Writing Seminars and minor in Classics.

My life revolves around art, writing, laughter, happiness, and being the best human being that I can be.
