Tenisha Brown-Williams boasts an impressive 20 years of professional experience in the hospitality and tourism industry. She has worked on tourism developmental projects at the national, regional, and international levels, making her a highly skilled and knowledgeable expert in her field. With a B.Sc. in Tourism and Hospitality Management (Honours), a M.Sc. in Tourism Development and Management (with Distinction), and a PhD in Governance (with a focus on Tourism) currently underway at the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute for Social and Economic Studies, UWI (St. Augustine), Tenisha is a force to be reckoned with.

During her seven-year tenure at the Destination Management Organization (DMO) in Trinidad and Tobago, Tenisha co-supervised the Quality Control Unit, where she excelled at assisting small, medium, and large tourism operators in developing their businesses through the implementation of tourism quality assurance initiatives. She also coordinated and facilitated strategic planning sessions for tourism product development initiatives at the organization, showcasing her leadership skills and strategic thinking.

Tenisha is highly respected for her contributions towards the development of national tourism standards in collaboration with the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards (TTBS). In fact, she was recognized by the TTBS in 2014 for “Outstanding Commitment and Service as Chairperson of National Standards Committees,” a testament to her exceptional work. Her experience extends to the international level, where she made significant contributions towards the management of the Blue Flag programme, an international eco-label for beaches and marinas implemented in Trinidad. Tenisha represented Trinidad and Tobago at meetings in Denmark and Greece, showcasing her ability to excel on a global stage.

As a Board Director on Green T&T, a local NGO, Tenisha coordinated the international Green Key programme in Tobago from 2019-2021, further demonstrating her expertise and leadership skills. Tenisha is highly sought after for her consulting expertise, having worked on various projects managed by UNESCO, the Caribbean Local Economic Development Project (CARILED), and Caribbean Natural Resource Institute (CANARI).
