Tennis Keeper
Software Engineer and Tennis Player in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
I am a software engineer and Tennis Player. A few months ago, I started TennisKeeper because I want to follow my passion for tennis and app development.
I created TennisKeeper app because I couldn't find any tennis app that would let me track my tennis activities such as the matches I played or the lessons I took. There are many running apps for runners, workout apps for the fitness enthusiast, and diet apps for those that want to maintain a healthy diet, but there isn't anything for tracking and monitoring tennis workouts and progress. According to the research by the Tennis Industry Association, in 2015, there are 17.96 million tennis players. So I am really surprised that there isn't any tennis fitness apps that are designed for them.
TennisKeeper lets you track 5 kinds of tennis activities: singles matches, doubles matches, hitting practices, tennis lessons, and cross training. It let you track your own performance so that you can visualize your progress and see how your are improving overtime. Do you know how many matches you played each week, month or year? What is your record against certain opponent? Have you improved over time? These are impossible questions to answer until now. Unless you're on a professional tour circuit, that information is likely to be lost for good.
