I am a 44-year-old Senior Experimental Test Pilot working for Nordwestdeutsche Flugerprobungs- und Hochleistungsverkehrsluftfahrtsentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (NFHVLEG), a European aerospace company specializing in large aircraft development, advanced flight systems, and certification programs. My career combines technical flight testing expertise, operational aviation experience, and a commitment to safety in demanding environments around the world.
My passion for aviation began at the age of six when I unexpectedly experienced my first flight in a hot-air balloon during a local aviation event. What could have been a frightening experience instead sparked a fascination with flight that would shape the rest of my life.
Determined to pursue a career in aviation, I moved to Germany, where I completed advanced aviation studies and professional flight training. There I developed a strong foundation in aerodynamics, aircraft systems, flight testing procedures, aviation safety, and multi-engine aircraft operations. The rigorous training environment and engineering culture provided the ideal preparation for a future career in aerospace and flight testing.
Over the years, I have accumulated thousands of flight hours in a wide variety of aircraft, ranging from light utility airplanes to large transport aircraft. My flying experience has taken me across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, operating in diverse conditions and often supporting missions that required careful planning and precise execution.
Alongside my test pilot duties, I became involved in humanitarian aviation and wildlife rescue operations. Working with international conservation organizations, veterinarians, humanitarian agencies, and government authorities, I participated in missions to evacuate and relocate animals from conflict zones, disaster areas, and regions affected by environmental crises.
Some of the most memorable operations involved transporting animals from war-affected areas and major natural disaster zones. Following a devastating tsunami, I participated in a multinational effort to move surviving animals from damaged coastal regions to rehabilitation centers, wildlife sanctuaries, and zoological institutions across Europe. These missions required close coordination between aviation crews, animal welfare specialists, and local authorities to ensure the safe transport and long-term care of the animals.
Many of these flights involved endangered species and animals rescued from environments that had become unsafe due to conflict or natural disasters. Successfully completing such missions required not only professional aviation skills but also adaptability, leadership, and a strong commitment to conservation efforts.
At NFHVLEG, I conduct advanced flight evaluations, aircraft performance testing, systems validation flights, and certification support operations. I work closely with aerospace engineers, regulatory authorities, and international aviation partners to help introduce new technologies safely into service. My responsibilities include assessing aircraft handling qualities, evaluating system performance, and supporting the development of next-generation aviation solutions.
Throughout my career, I have remained committed to the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and continuous learning. Whether testing advanced aircraft systems or supporting humanitarian and conservation initiatives, I believe aviation can be a powerful tool for innovation, cooperation, and positive global impact.
My expertise includes experimental and production flight testing, aircraft certification, large transport aircraft operations, aviation safety management, humanitarian air operations, international mission coordination, wildlife relocation logistics, crew resource management, aerospace systems analysis, and leadership in multinational environments.
I continue to approach every flight with the same curiosity and enthusiasm that began with an unexpected hot-air balloon ride at six years old, combining decades of experience with a passion for advancing aviation and supporting meaningful missions around the world.
