My name is Tera S. Williams. I’m returning to NCCU to pursue a Bachelor’s in Business Administration Management after being out of school for roughly 20 years. Currently my classification is a sophomore. I have been working in the field of Environmental Services for the past 10 years. I actually started out in this field working as a housekeeper and within months was quickly promoted to a team lead, then to a supervisor and eventually an Account Manager. I have been managing cleaning contracts for over 20 years. I am on track to be promoted to an Assistant Director within the next 6 months. I also work part time for Durham Public Schools. I have been working 2 jobs for over 7 years. Once I obtain my degree, my plan is to open 2 hair salons and a day care or adult care facility. I was always taught that nothing in life is given to you. You have to work hard.
My goal is to always be in a position to help someone. I always want to be able to facilitate people in making their lives better. As a community, I believe if we all “sponsored” one person or family, we could make impactful changes in our local and global communities.
