Terea Jenkins-Singleton provides counseling and case management as a resource worker for the State of New Jersey. Prior to assuming this position in 2005, she served as a program supervisor for the South Jersey AIDS Alliance (SJAA). From SJAA’s Atlantic City office, Terea Jenkins-Singleton managed overall operations and worked directly with client in need of HIV testing and counseling. After receiving a bachelor of arts in criminal justice from Stockton University, Terea Jenkins-Singleton graduated with honors from Rutgers University with a master of social work. During her master’s studies, she worked with Covenant House as a program coordinator, lead case manager, and youth advisor. Along with delivering counseling for young people without any fixed residences in these capacities, she created an aftercare program that now constitutes one of the principal facets of Covenant House’s homelessness relief programming.Beyond her career in social services, Ms. Jenkins-Singleton engages with an online community of fashion-conscious, budget-smart women who buy and sell used, name-brand clothing through the platforms Poshmark and eBay. Also a cooking enthusiast who especially appreciates authentic Louisiana Creole food, she enjoyed the chance to go on a long-anticipated trip to New Orleans, where she took a culinary course to learn more about the city’s indigenous cuisine.
