Ubuntu-Pesa is venture-capital for the poor.

It raises capital from migrants and ex-patriots which they invest in entrepreneurs from low income communities mainly in sub-Saharan Africa, so that they can make their own choices about starting businesses, creating employment, building infrastructure etc, and not be dependent on aid.

It works with low income people and treats them not as passive receivers of charity, but as individual customers, consumers, clients ~ people who want to make important decisions about their own lives.

Ubuntu-Pesa also invests in ~ and raises charitable funds from individuals, foundations and corporations for ~ a sustainable development fund to help the poor create affordable healthcare, housing, energy, schooling, roads, clean water etc, then lets them make their own funding decisions.
