My name is Teresa Sousa and I caught the translation bug in 2004. Even before that, I was showing serious signs of addiction to travelling and a feverish appetite for foreign languages and cultures. The treatment consists of frequent trips to new towns, as well as sporadic stays on heavenly beaches. More recently, I picked up the fashion and jewellery bug and I inherited a genetic malady, commonly known as “a passion for four wheels”. The side effects are an unusual tendency to do too much shopping and spend too much time on “research”. Which brings me to the latest bug I’ve picked up. The main symptom of this one is my translation work on two different strains, English and German to another rare variant, European Portuguese. I also suffer from PMS (Project Management Syndrome), a natural tendency to look at everything in life as a project, with a beginning, middle and end. And as if all this weren’t enough, I also suffer from unusual enthusiasm when faced with success: my own and that of others, in equal parts.
