Dr. Teresa M. Carter is a consultant with expertise in program development and evaluation, public health research, and adult education. She conducts interviews, focus group research, or facilitates group discussions to obtain information for needs/resource assessments, program evaluations, or strategic planning projects. State and municipal agencies, community organizations, and a variety of public and private institutions have contracted with Dr. Carter for services.
Carter has designed and implemented research projects to examine the impact of a wide spectrum of health issues on diverse populations. Assisting health promotion coalitions in their collaborative efforts to identify health issues and develop initiatives that would improve the overall health status of underserved communities sparked a long-term professional interest that shaped her consulting and academic experiences.
As a facilitator of a broad range of professional development workshops, Dr. Carter also leads professional and lay group sessions in strategic planning; coalition-building processes; conflict resolution and management skills training; lifestyle modification and wellness; project management; cultural diversity awareness; leadership skills; and interpersonal communications.
