I have a tendency to turn inanimate objects into living beings. I know it sounds weird and I'm sure there is a clinical word for it. For instance; little beat up nightstands, can be transformed in to lovely little babies. An abandoned chair with ornate clawed feet just needs love to become the beauty she is. Old things have personality and character. I am always on the look out for their story.

I think it all relates to my childhood. (doesn't everything?).
I come from a long line of pickers, thrifters and scavengers. As a kid growing up in Los Angeles, many weekends were spent with my mom scouring garage sales, my happy face coin purse at the ready.

Fast forward to the 80's and I shunned those big Galleria stores and did all my clothes shopping at vintage and thrift stores on Melrose in Hollywood. This was before it was cool and expensive!

As the years went by and I started a family, I was always on the lookout for quality furniture and housewares I knew would last. Items with a history or items that I remembered from my childhood. Something about vintage record players and mid century modern club chairs, takes me to that happy place of youth.

I love nothing more than walking into a thrift store and smelling the 'old'. The pursuit of treasure is a genuine rush and when I come across a gem, I am thrilled to be able to buy it and hopefully pass it along to someone else who will love and appreciate it.

I started my shop slowly and I have loved every minute of it. From pristine vintage credenzas to refurbished 70's coffee tables and everything in between, I hope you will find something you need, want or just have to have here at Queen B Vintage Studios. (Named after my bossy little Corgi, Queenie).
I am now a semi empty nester who has moved back to my hometown and is happily ensconced in a Little Cinderblock House with my high school sweetheart. Some might say I'm living in the past, I say I'm living in the moment and embracing all the quality and joy from the past as I do it.
