Teri Van Goethem is owner and Manager of DC Bread & Brew, an exciting new café and bar near Dupont Circle in Washington, DC. The café features an extensive casual dining menu with locally sourced products, a bar featuring craft brews and a selection of wines, and a coffeehouse with a variety of drinks made with fair trade coffee beans. Teri Van Goethem, a Washington, DC native, is dedicated to using environmentally friendly practices throughout DC Bread & Brew, from organic, local ingredients to biodegradable to-go containers, plates, napkins, cups, and utensils. Teri Van Goethem also provides a number of catering options to her customers through the café. Aside from catering breakfasts and lunches, DC Bread & Brew also offers buffet selections for events, appetizer platters, dessert trays, and other additional items to help an event run smoothly. By sourcing as many products as she can from local farms and growers, Teri Van Goethem produces a menu that is both sustainable and friendly to small businesses. Aside from using local organic milk, free range eggs, and organic tea, Ms. Van Goethem sources ingredients from a number of farmers, including Tuscarora Organic Growers and Trickling Springs Creamery. The cafe is Green Certified. The dishes are from a local pottery and the napkins are made from recycled water bottles. Teri Van Goethem has a number of years of experience in local restaurants and food providers and has directed catering for Dean & Deluca, Balducci’s, and High Noon. DC Bread & Brew is Ms. Van Goethem’s realization of creating both a catering service and a café for her neighborhood.
