ENTREPRENEUR AND MARKETING GURU TERRENCE GOOSEN BELIEVES IT IS ESSENTIAL FOR BUSINESS TO EMBRACE TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION
Entrepreneur Head of Marketing Manager of Yoco Technologies, Terrence Goosen, believes that the only way for business to grow and succeed is to continuously embrace technology and innovation.
Although born in Kwazulu-Natal (in 1987), Terrence spent most of his childhood years in Cape Town, with occasional bursts in Johannesburg. “The Mother City owns my heart and always will, and I’m super proud to call this incredible city my home,” he says.
After completing several courses at CBM Training and Blue Magnet, specialising in digital marketing, digital communications and media/multimedia, Terrence held several top positions at some of the biggest companies in the advertising & marketing industry for several years. This eventually led to him establishing his own business, Honestly Digital, as well as join Premier Hotels & Resorts as Group Marketing Manager and then into the FinTech market as Head of Marketing for Yoco.
“Service, honesty and performance have always been some of my strongest values. Honestly Digital is a mentoring and consultation business – focused on the digital arms of marketing and the transparency (honesty) surrounding these practices. For Premier Hotels & Resorts, his vision is to see the group lead the way in the industry in terms of service delivery, product and consistently staying relevant to all of their markets.
“In this day and age it’s essential for a business, especially one like ours, to embrace technology and innovation. I believe strongly that innovation is the best tool to bring about change and success.
Where there’s no road, build one. Who says it needs to be made of tar or brick?”
Terrence describes himself as a people’s person, with a passion for developing people and empowering independent and creative thinking in a collaborative environment. “I’m also a major food fundi and wine enthusiast. When I’m not traveling or trying to change the world one smile at a time, I’m usually eating and drinking with friends and family,” he says.
He further states that he has a passion for personal interaction and that he is a natural entertainer, similar to his mother. Terrence is also a fashion addict and a collector of sunglasses, watches and scarves. He even owns a scarf brand that will launch in South Africa during June.
