Beccles Suffolk

I live in Beccles in Suffolk alongside the river Waveney, a very inspirational area for a bird carver. I started painting from as early as I can remember and up until the early nineties I was still painting detailed watercolours of birds of prey. I swapped my paints and paper to wood and knives in about 1994, the decision made easy by the influx of wildlife artists in the East Anglia region. During my early carving days I had an idea to create a wooden framed box with a glass front to put my carved birds into, I then had the idea to put lighting in them, this was to be called my "Naturebox". By the time I got to 1997 I took the decision to put more effort into the carving of the birds, I dropped the making of the boxes and from then up to now I've built up a stock of work and started working full time as a carver, including teaching and writing an EBook "A Bird in the Hand" & an instructional manual "Secrets of the Bird Carver" both can be accessed on my website www.terryeveritt.co.uk
