Terry A. McDonald

I am a fine art environmental photographer and workshop instructor. I approach photography as both an art and a craft: a solid grounding in technique, frees me to explore a variety of visual styles. As a photographer my goal seems simple enough: express the art inherent in nature. However, nature is not always so accommodating!

Although I grew up and have lived most of my life in Canada, enjoying wilderness backpacking, canoeing and cross-country skiing, I have also lived, worked and photographed overseas for 10 years in Tanzania, Germany and, most recently, England. My family and I live in Guelph, Ontario where I offer classroom and field workshops throughout the year. I also teach courses in Landscape Photography and Lightroom at Mohawk College, Hamilton. Recently I published my second limited-edition book of photographs: Tanzania. My work has been published in Canada and England and is in private collections on three continents.
