Richard Scott Tessell
Born in Doylestown, PA. Near Philadelphia. Spent some time living in the suburbs of Baltimore. Then back to the suburbs of Philly. Did "Uni" in "Da Burgh" (Pittsburgh, in case you didn't know). Then spent the next decade in NYC. While I loved it, I took an opportunity to move to Europe - first Rotterdam in The Netherlands, Vienna, and finally, in good ol' rainy Yorkshire in the North of England. After 5 years of limited sunshine, I moved to California - to try out the Silicon Valley.
I am a Dad of two silly little girls, husband to an Emmy-winning television producer and an amateur (sometime professional) piano player. I had the good fortune of playing/studying with some really great musicians including, Frank Cunimondo, Nathan Davis, Deidre Rodman and Adam Holzman (of Miles Davis/Steve Wilson fame).
I am a bit of a tinkerer. My current hobbies are playing piano/harmonica, long-boarding, weight-lifting, comedy, video games and learning German so I can talk to my wife & kids.
Back in my college days, I studied Physics & Mathematics - but found I actually enjoyed fiction writing more. Naturally, after graduating with a degree in mathematics, I went to work in the music business (Sony Music). I later interned at Atlantic Records as well as with a few management companies. I even started a radio promotion company and A&R consultancy.
When I realized I wasn't making any money, I went into Healthcare.
