Lumbar Sympathetic Block

The Lumbar Sympathetic Block treats pain in the lower extremities caused by a collection of nerves found in the anterior part of the lower spine. This treatment is commonly used to treat patients who have been diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). CRPS causes the nerves in the lower spine to frequently send pain signals to the brain, resulting in patients having to deal with chronic pain. In this procedure our doctors inject an anesthetic as well as a steroid which block these nerves from sending the pain signals to the brain. Here at Texas Pain Relief Group we have seen a patient who has fully recovered, and was able to run only 2 weeks after the procedure.
