Thabiso Buthelezi

Student and Teacher in Johannesburg

THABISO BUTHELEZI

hello, I am Thabiso Buthelezi, a third-year student teacher at the University of Johannesburg. It has been a tremendous opportunity for me to grow personally while studying at the University of Johannesburg. I don't say that because it's known as the top university in the nation, though. I say this because it was the finest university for building the foundation for who I am now. Being at UJ enabled me to have a more realistic perspective on life. The lectures inspired me to see myself as exceptional and brilliant, and they restored my lost belief in myself. I am majoring in both physical education and mathematics at the university. I really like these programs, and I also think other modules are fascinating and helpful in helping me build a strong foundation for my PLN teaching.

My teaching philosophy is “ All learners are unique and capable of greater perfection, they just need a little push, proper scaffolding and they would reach their maxim”. My teaching philosophy is based on my belief in students' capacities and cognitive abilities. Even in school, I was interested or invested in drawing, reading, and mostly counting or solving problems. Now, I am very interested in developing greater knowledge of reality, developing skills, including digital skills, and mostly, I am interested in mathematics as it is my first major. I am a diligent worker, devoted student, and a future pedagogical practitioner. I have lot of dreams to accomplish, and I am a lifelong learner.
