I’ve played soccer since I was 5 years old. It’s been a major part of my life and something that I’ve committed a lot of time and resources into. I had to make the hard choice of a college environment like UGA or continuing to play in college recently. While I picked the UGA college environment, soccer helped a lot in both the physical and mental aspect. It’s helped me stay in shape and learn how to take care of my body. It’s built friendships with my teammates that will last a lifetime.

My dad had me playing three sports up until high school started. This gave me a competitive mindset not just in the sports but in my life too because I spent so much time playing sports it just blended with everything else. Soccer and sports in general have allowed me to develop leadership skills that are hard to be taught anywhere else.

Starting college has created a need to adapt as soccer isn’t as big of a part as my life anymore. So now I’ve been challenged to think about ways to get chances to still play the game that I devoted so much time to or now ways to stay in shape now that the main way I stay conditioned is gone.

It’s a new challenge that I look forward to trying to overcome.
