Thadeus Bwire

I am Thadeus Bwire, born on 10th Nov 1990 in a small village in Busia County in Western Kenya. Raised by a maternal grand mother - Virginia Odwory whom I have grown calling Mum. She treated me like her own kid and made sure I had all I needed for my success.

I made her proud when I scored 383/500 marks in my final primary exams of 2004. I had the joy from the success but what next? She found me a sponsor who happens to be my maternal Aunt who paid my school fees and provided for all the requirements till I completed my studies and still made everyone proud from the good grades I got and again,what next?

I had to hustle in the village by doing all sorts of work from charcoal burning/selling,garden clearing, collecting water for people and much more not because I was asked to do by any of my people,I just wanted to have my own money.

Since I hadn't done computer studies in school, I had to move to Kisumu to another Aunt so that I could do computer packages. On completion, a calling letter to college had already reached post office so I joined Siaya Institute Of Technology for a Dip In Automotive Engineering which I completed in Nov 2012.

I knew I was old enough not to sit home and be fed like a kid. I started riding a motorbike as a transporter while looking for jobs until I got one in May 2013 which I was being paid Ksh 800/week. This wasn't anything I could do for long coz of the financial strains of Eldoret town. In June, I got a job in Limuru of Ksh. 10,000/month. The small yoghurt company relocated to Ruiru where expenditure rose with constant pay and more tasks to do. I QUIT in Sept 2014 and went back to my motorcycle business till Feb 2015.

A friend linked me to a restaurant HR who was looking for a mechanical expert to do maintenance of their vehicles. I worked for a few weeks in the department then was to be Driving & stock control alongside the my job at same salary ( Ksh 15,000/month) . I complained about this until I formed a whatsapp group for employees to discuss the same. One of the group members emailed the chat to the MD of the restaurant who called police officers to arrest me for incitement. I was suspended but before I was recalled, I had gotten an opportunity advertised on facebook. I attended a seminar on how the business works and THAT IS HOW AND WHY I QUIT EMPLOYMENT TO DO BUSINESS which is paying me over Ksh 14,000 weekly - more than my monthly salary since I was subject to deductions.
